I'm baaaaaaack!!!

Well, I took a short long hiatus from the blog, mainly because I was a little worried about privacy. Sure, I love showing my kid off, BUT I wasnt too excited about the idea of some random people looking at the ole bloggeroo. After doing some research, I have figured out a way to make things more private and those of you reading this have been asked by invitation only! V.I.P!

A lot has happened since my last post around St. Patrick's day. The kid turned ONE year old, has been down to the country to visit Great-Grandma and Grandpa, been to a family reunion and spent a rockin summer hangin with mom! I will post some pics and discuss some highlights and call it good.

First was his birthday! I have always thought I would keep birthdays somewhat low key. Dont get me wrong, I definitely plan on throwing some super fun surprise parties at some point, but when they are this young, I didnt really thing a big blow out party was too critical. Karsen was so blessed to have both sets of grandparents in attendance, as well as his Uncle Jim and Aunt Stacy! It was a fun evening.

I had a good time getting some things together for his birthday. I especially enjoyed the 12 opening shadow box with each of the month-by-month pictures I took over the year.

CAKE! Nom nom nom.

Cozy Coupe redo! Thank goodness for my Silhouette machine! The hardest part was the spray painting.

A new bike helmet!

Some great gifts! Onsies, a teeball set, and a red wagon!

Family pic!

I took Karsen to my grandparents house for a few days so he could get a taste of country life. He really enjoyed himself and I think he is still missing the chickens!

The second we got out of the car, he noticed the chickens in the backyard.

Great-grandpa caught a bunch of fish. Of course we had to take a picture.

No trip to Great-grandmas house is complete without a visit to Venus Creek. I didnt quite remember it as Grandma had talked about it, but once we pulled up, I immediately remembered! Karsen wasnt too sure about walking in the rocks.

He got a little more comfortable and splashed in the water.

Four generations selfie before we left.

Tractor ride with Great-grandpa!

We worked our trip around a cousins wedding so this pic is from the wedding! Please excuse the black shoes with the white socks. Shoes were from Great-grandma and I had no other socks.

Next was the Heck family reunion in Florence, Kansas. Karsen got some good time with dad, Grammy and Papa, and had a good time meeting some extended family!

While out feeding the ducks, Bruce said "All he wanted to do was get in the water!"

Karsen and I have had a blast this summer. I have really enjoyed spending the days with him and he has been so much fun. We havent made it down to the pool yet, but we have gotten out the baby pool as well as the water table and he seems to love those! It is so much easier to get out and run errands with him so we have gotten out a little bit too. This summer has gone at the perfect pace...not too fast, not too slow. I know each summer to come will just continue to get better and better!
