28 weeks

Well, I lied. Turns out 28 weeks is the start of the third trimester...so as of Saturday, I am officially on the downhill! I cant even believe we have hit the third trimester. The time has flown by. I think it is safe to say that if the babe comes at any point, we are ready. We still dont have a crib mattress but that is something quick and easy we will go by at Walmart. I even got the bases out of the basement storage closet for the infant carseat. Keep in mind, they are still in the basement, just out of the closet. We need to do some rearranging of carseats but we will postpone that at least until the beginning of May. Id like to keep Karsen in the middle of the car in the safest position until it is no longer an option.

This week has been great on account that the weather has been getting warmer. Karsen is definitely an "outside" kid so every evening after we get home from daycare, he wants to spend some additional time outside. While the wind has been crazy, the warmer weather makes it tolerable.

He used to hesitate on the slides, but these days he plops right down and takes off.

Peaking his head through one of the holes on the twisty tube slide.

He really enjoys his time in the swing!

Mom and dad say "Not quite yet, Karsen!"

Finally got up the courage to let go and take a ride down the big slide. He looked terrified the whole time but when he got to the bottom, he had a big smile on his face and ran around to the ladder to go again.

Always trying new things, at the park.

Happy boy!

I have been feeling ok lately. With some additional stress at school, I am still noticing my belly getting tighter as the day progresses. I pray every day that the boy will come out healthy, and happy! Yesterday, I went on a pilgrimage to Conception Abbey (Conception, MO) and Sister Servants of Mary (KCK) with my mom, while Bruce spent the day with his parents and Karsen. I got a quick bump pic before mom and I left for the day.

How far along? 28 weeks. Size of an eggplant.
Total weight gain: I've got an appointment on Thursday so I will get a definite amount then, but I am guessing Im up 11 pounds or so. I got a nice long walk in twice this week, and as always, continue to do it more and more as the days get nicer.
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans, tops, elastic pants...whatever is comfortable.
Sleep: Sleep has been good. Again, I cut myself off of water at a certain point in the evenings so I only have to get up once for the bathroom. Sleeping in our room has been tough on my hips. I guess the mattress is too hard. I slept in the spare bed the other night and my hips didnt hurt at all. Might be time to make the change until after this baby makes his appearance.
Best moment this week: Karsen has started to say that he wants to play with brother...at least that is what it sounds like to us. Haha. Who even knows if he knows what he is saying, but it was pretty exciting! Unrelated to kids...we signed our sellers documents for the condo this week (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so the only thing left to happen is the buyer signing his docs on Wednesday. Come on, Wednesday!
Miss anything? Still wine. Always wine.
Movement: I still feel him all the time. He was the most active while I was on the bus trip to the Abbey yesterday. Such strong kicks that I thought he was going to come right out of my belly!
Food cravings: Still craving sugar, but I have also started really enjoying raspberry flavored iced tea. Yum!
Symptoms: Tight belly...and tired early in the evening.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On and comfortable.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Let's be honest, I am fairly moody. I think I am just ready to meet this kid and enjoy summer with he and Karsen.
Looking forward to: As the weather improves, I am totally looking forward to the spring...spring break, and then summer break! We are all looking forward to Wednesday when the buyer signs his closing papers. We are ready to say "good bye" to the condo! I've also got my glucose test coming up this week on Thursday. I hope I pass the first time, but if not, it'll be a good excuse to take another day off school! :)

27 weeks

It is hard to believe that in a few short weeks we will start the last quarter of this pregnancy! It felt like it has flown by! Week 27 marks the official beginning of the third trimester. As the weather has been feeling nicer, my excitement to meet this little guy continues to rise. I feel him kicking and moving all of the time so I just wonder if he will be as active when he is out of the womb. Either way, I am looking forward to May!

It was another rough week at school so I am finally reserving myself to the idea that this is just the cross I am meant to bear at this time, and I will get through it. Hopefully, the remainder of the year is less stressful so I can coast on outta here.

I have gotten some great pictures of Karsen lately! He sure has been so fun to be around, but we are starting to see a little bit of toddler attitude coming from him. Luckily, they are short tantrums so they aren't too bad, and we are hopeful it doesn't get too much worse, but we will see!

We are well past Christmas, but we still wear these pjs!

Birthday dinner with Grandma!

Smiles!

He loves sitting on his stool.

I wonder where he learned to cross his legs?!

Loves ice cream!

Wearing Mr. Potato's hat!

Running to mom with a book!

He loves his police car and ambulance PJs!

Jumping off the slide at the park.

On the swing!

Below is the bump pic from this week! The belly definitely feels bigger this week.

How far along? 27 weeks.
Total weight gain: I have been out walking a few days this week so I am really starting to feel better overall. I havent weighed myself lately. It wouldnt surprise me if I have gained a few more pounds.
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans, tops, elastic pants...whatever is comfortable.
Sleep: Sleep has been ok. Again, I have cut myself off of water at a certain time in the evening so that forces me to only get up once per night to use the restroom. I rotate back and forth a lot but otherwise, I am sleeping pretty well.
Best moment this week: The nicer weather has helped me be in a better mood. Being able to get outside with Karsen and go to the park always makes things more pleasant.
Miss anything? Still wine. Always wine.
Movement: Stronger kicks and more frequently! I have also felt some more forceful movements, so I am guessing he is starting to recognize that he has a little less room.
Food cravings: No cravings in particular.
Symptoms: No real symptoms.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On and comfortable.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy to be home with Karsen and Bruce.
Looking forward to: As the weather improves, I am totally looking forward to the spring...spring break, and then summer break!

26 weeks

Another tough week at school...and that's all I'll say about that.

Here is the 26 week bump pic! I feel like he grew a lot over the last week. My next appointment is on March 3 and it is at that appointment where I will have my Glucose test. Fingers crossed it goes well!

How far along? 26 weeks. The baby is the length of a green onion. Terrible comparison for this week.
Total weight gain: I would guess I am up to 10 or 11 pounds but it is my hope to get out every day this week since it is supposed to be nice!
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans and tops...and elastic pants!
Sleep: Sleep has been pretty terrible this week. The last few nights especially, I have had some hip pain if I sleep on one side for too long.
Best moment this week: I have felt a TON of kicking this week so every time I feel him moving, I just get more and more excited to meet him!
Miss anything? Still wine. Always wine.
Movement: Stronger kicks and more frequently!
Food cravings: No cravings in particular. The need for sweets has dwindled.
Symptoms: No real symptoms. Occasional stomach tightening with stress, otherwise feeling great!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On and comfortable.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy to be home with Karsen and Bruce.
Looking forward to: Spring Break and then summer break. Conferences went well and I enjoyed meeting with the 8th grade parents the most. They are a fantastic class with a good group of parents. I found myself telling many of them that I hope to make it to graduation...and I truly mean it. I'd be sad to not see them off.

25 weeks

Well, didnt get the snow day we were hoping for, and needless to say, the kids were wanting it just as much as the teachers. They were CRAZY this week. It certainly didnt help that this week was Catholic Schools Week. We were only in school for 3.5 days, but like it has lately, it felt like an eternity. Blah.

I felt a ton of kicks this week and I just love that feeling. It will never get old. I went out shopping last weekend and found some super cute onsies on sale for #2. Of course I had to pick up a shirt for Karsen so he didnt feel left out! I have to wonder how it is possible, but he has gotten more and more fun as the days pass. He really enjoys standing on the dining room chairs so he can get a good vantage point of the whole room. We even have to drag the chair out into the kitchen so he can "help" get dinner ready. He babbles and talks more and more every day. We understand most of what he says, but still struggle with a few things. Below are some pics of the cutie!

He can see everything!

Such a daredevil!

LOVES the slide!

Made it to the top!...but never actually slid down...

Another slide, but just as fun!

Shopping with mom and dad at Lowe's.

Bubbles!

My cutie!

Bath time fun. A soap beard!

It is hard to believe that I am at 25 weeks this weekend! I had an appointment earlier this week and everything is going great! Good heartbeat, and measuring on time. At my next appointment in 4 weeks, I will do the glucose test. I failed the 1 hour test with Karsen, but passed the 3 hour test. I hope to pass the first test and be done this time, but we will see.

How far along? 25 weeks. Size of a rutabaga...whatever that is!
Total weight gain: At my appointment on Tuesday I was still at 9 pounds gained. I was able to get out and walk a few times last weekend so hopefully that helped burn off some extra calories.
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans and tops...and elastic pants!
Sleep: Sleep has been good. I have been EXHAUSTED by the time 7p hits, so when I go upstairs for bed at 9p, I have no issue falling asleep.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat at the appointment Tuesday.
Miss anything? Still wine. Always wine.
Movement: Stronger kicks!
Food cravings: Still heavy on the sweets but not as much as in weeks past.
Symptoms: No real symptoms. Occasional stomach tightening with stress, otherwise feeling great!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On and comfortable.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy to be home with Karsen and Bruce...moody at school...
Looking forward to: Lent starts this week. I am looking forward to Ash Wednesday and another short week. We have conferences on Thursday afternoon but Friday is a day off! Woot!
